SCHEME SCHOLARSHIP /STIPEND TO STUDENT WITH DISABILITIES

The Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities has informed that the Department is implementing Welfare Scheme for the Grant of stipend and scholarship separately for Students with Disabilities who are studying in various schools/colleges/institutions etc.

Stipend for the students Std. I to VIII will be Rs. 200/- and stipend for the students Std. IX to XII will be Rs, 300/- per month for 11 months. Scholarship for the students IX to XII Standard or equivalent as per University Courses will be Rs. 500/- per month for 11 month for Day Scholar, Rs.200/- per month for 11 month for Hostellers and Rs. 75/- for Readers allowance for Blind per month for 11 months. B.A./B.Com./BSc students will get Rs. 650/- per month for 11 months for Day Scholar, Rs. 270/- per month for 11 month for Hostellers and Rs. 115/- for Readers allowance for Blind per month for 11 months. BE/B.ARCH/MBBS/LLB/B.Ed/Diploma in professional and Engineering Courses etc and also MA/MSc/M. Com/LLM/MED will get scholarship of Rs. 900/- per month for 11 months for Day Scholar, Rs. 360/- per month for 11 month for Hostellers and Rs. 150/- for Readers allowance for Blind per month for 11 months.

The students should possess a minimum disability for 40% and above duly certified by the Medical Board. The students should have secured a minimum 45% marks and above in the previous annual examination. The annual income of parents of the student should not exceed Rs.1,50,000/- p.a. from all the sources. UDID card issued by the Directorate of Social Welfare is also a criteria for eligibility to apply under this scheme. Scholarship is also awarded to pursue education in Music and Vocational Courses through recognized Board of Education or University.

Only online applications under schemes will be accepted and no request for offline applications will be entertained. Registration of students on CM Scholarship Portal cmscholarship.goa.gov.in for the year 2025-26 for Persons with Disabilities has already commenced. The last date for registration and submission of application for Grant of Scholarship to the Persons with Disabilities is November 15, 2025.
