FOOT & MOUTH DISEASE CONTROL PROGRAMME FROM APRIL 1

The Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services is implementing 30 days “Foot & Mouth Disease Control Programme (FMD-CP) under National Animal Disease Control Programme (6th Round)” a Government of India Scheme from April 01, 2025.
The vaccination is to eradicate Foot & Mouth Disease which is highly contagious disease. It causes economic losses in milk production, draught power, growth and reproduction in animals
The efforts are being made to vaccinate all the cattle and buffalo population including stray animals. Pre and post vaccination sera samples will be collected from selected villages, as per the list provided by Government of India to ascertain the immune status of the herd.
As per the guidelines it is mandatory to Eartag all the vaccinated animals for identification and upload the details on INAPH Portal.
The dairy farmers are requested to extend their full hearted cooperation to the vaccination teams/staff of the Department.
