LIST OF HOLIDAYS DURING YEAR 2025

The Government of Goa has directed that days specified below shall be observed as Public Holidays, Special Holidays, Restricted Holidays, Commercial Holidays, and Industrial holidays for the Commercial and Industrial Worker in Goa and Bank holiday in the State of Goa for the year 2025.

The list of Public Holidays is as follow: Republic Day (January 26), Holi (March 14), Gudi Padava (March 30), Id-Ul-Fitr (March 31), Ram Navami (April 06), Birth Anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar (April 14), Good Friday (April 18), May Day (May 01), Id-Ul-Zuha/Bakri Id (June 7), Independence Day ( August 15), Ganesh Chaturthi, first day (August 27), Ganesh Chaturthi, second day (August 28), Gandhi Jayanti (October 02), Dussehra/Vijaya Dashmi (October 02), Diwali (October 20), Feast of St Francis Xavier (December 03), Goa Liberation Day (December 19) and Christmas Day (December 25).

Id-Ul-Fitr and Id-Ul-Zuha (Bakri Id) are subject to appearance of the moon.

The list of Special Holidays are Mahashivratri (February 26) and Milad-Un-Nabi or Id-e-Milad (September 05). Milad-Un-Nabi or Id-e-Milad is subject to appearance of the moon.

The list of Restricted Holidays is as follows: New Year Day (January 01), Makarsankranti (January 14), Feast of St Joseph Vaz (January 16), Guru Ravi Das Birthday (February 12), Shivaji Jayanti (February 19), Mahavir Jayanti (April 10), Vaisakhi/Vishu (April 13), Maundy Thursday (April 17), Budha Purnima (May 12), Feast of Sacred Heart of Jesus (June 27), Muharam (July 06), Raksha Bandhan (August 09), Janmashtami (August 15), Hartalika (August 26), Onam (September 05), Govardhan Puja (October 22), Bhaubij (October 23), All Soul’s Day (November 02), Guru Nanak’s birthday (November 05), Guru Teg Bahadur Martydom Day (November 24), Feast of Immaculate Conception of Mary (December 08), Christmas Eve (December 24) and New Year’s Eve (December 31).

List of Commerical and Industrial Holidays are as follows:

Republic Day (January 26), Birth Anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar (April 14), May Day (May 01), Independence Day ( August 15), Ganesh Chaturthi, first day (August 27), Gandhi Jayanti (October 02), Diwali (October 20), Goa Liberation Day (December 19) and Christmas Day (December 25). Casual leave employees including daily rated staff will be entitled to paid holidays if they are in service on the preceding and succeeding working days.

List of Bank Holidays are as follows: Republic Day (January 26), Holi (March 14), Gudi Padava (March 30), Id-Ul-Fitr (March 31), Yearly Closing of Account (April 01), Birth Anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar (April 14), Good Friday (April 18), May Day (May 01), Id-Ul-Zuha/Bakri Id (June 7), Independence Day ( August 15), Ganesh Chaturthi, first day (August 27), Ganesh Chaturthi, second day (August 28), Gandhi Jayanti (October 02), Dussehra/Vijaya Dashmi (October 02), Diwali (October 20), Feast of St Francis Xavier (December 03), Goa Liberation Day (December 19) and Christmas Day (December 25).
