CM EXTENDS GREETINGS ON GANESH CHATURTHI

Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr Prarnod Sawant extended his warm greetings to Goans on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, traditionally known as ‘Chavath’ in Goa. He wished everyone to have a joyful and flourishing Ganesh festival that symbolises unity, peace and prosperity.

Dr Sawant in his message highlighted the significance of the festival. He said, “Ganpati Bappa is the most beloved deity of the people of Goa and thus the arrival of Ganesh Murti brings new hope and immense joy to our homes. Chavath is a sacred festival for us all, which brings families and relatives together to worship Lord Ganesh and celebrate the festive occasion with traditional rituals and culture. This reunion of families fosters values of oneness, social harmony and respect toward culture creating a pleasing atmosphere. “He also emphasized the importance of conserving and protecting nature during this celebration.

Hon’ble Chief Minister also made a special mention of Goa Government’s initiative to promote Vocal for Local through the Swayampurna Goa program, which includes the launch of goaebazaar.com, an online portal offering traditional Goan products, including ‘falar’ and ‘matoli’ items, directly to consumers. He emphasized the government’s commitment to empowering local farmers and artisans and encouraged citizens to utilise this platform, supporting local economic growth while enjoying convenient access to fresh and handmade products.

Dr. Sawant urged the people to celebrate the festival with devotion and participate in spiritual and cultural programs to spread peace and brotherhood.
