Sequeira unfurls National flag at Margao

Minister for Law & Judiciary Shri. Aleixo Sequeira unfurled the National flag on the occasion of Republic Day of India at South Goa Collectorate, Margao today.
While addressing the gathering Shri.Sequeira said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi our country has gained new confidence at global level. Now international communities can’t ignore India in decision making. Today India’s credibility is more stronger than ever. Being largest democracy our nation will certainly become largest economy in the world, he added.

India is achieving all round development wherein sectors like Railways, Agriculture have seen impressive improvement. Prime Minister Modi has aimed to empower women, youths and poor sections of the country thereby building a strong and prosperous nation, Shri. Sequeira added.

Minister further mentioned that Goa is a fast growing State. The State has made commendable progress in the sectors such as Tourism and Sports infrastructure etc. Goa is the only State in the Country which has Uniform Civil Code and also it has Common Family Law.

Shri. Sequeira inspected the Guard of Honour and reviewed March past by the contingents of Police, Home Guards, GHRDC, NCC students of Damodar College, students of Carmel College, Nuvem, Navodaya Vidyalaya, Canacona, Mahila & Nutan English High School, Margao, Our Lady of Health High School, Cuncolim, Govt. Multi Purpose High school, Borda, St. Therezas Convent High School, Raia.

On the occasion Students of Shishuuvikas High School and Late Vinayak Gopal Shenvi High School, Rawanfond presented patriotic songs, AIM English High School presented cultural dance.

Security Guards of GHRDC Shri. Ajit Velip and Shri.Sandesh Gaonkar were felicitated for their dedicated service.

MLA, Navelim Shri Ulhas Tuenkar, Collector South Goa Shri. A Asvin Chandru IAS, Superintendent of Police Shri.Gurudas Gawade and other senior officers were present on the occasion. Shri.Anil Pai compered the programme.
