NATIONAL YOUTH WEEK 2024 CELEBRATIONS

Kala Academy Goa’s College of Theatre Arts, in collaboration with the Directorate of Higher Education, Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Directorate of Planning, Statistics & Evaluation, and Directorate of Information and, Publicity, marked the celebration of National Youth Week 2024 on January 16, 2024 at the RGKM Conference Hall. This event, commemorating the Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, India’s esteemed spiritual and social leader, unfolded from 2.30 pm to 4.00 pm.
The program featured three enlightening sessions led by distinguished resource persons. Pradnya Bhat, a chartered accountant and entrepreneur, underscored the importance of financial management during challenges, emphasising the significance of concepts like SIP, Term Plans, and Health Insurance.
Dr. Kalpa Govekar, a psychiatrist and mindset coach, advised students to strike a balance between work and life while advocating for the removal of toxic influences without guilt. In the final session, Ms. Deepti Goankar, Deputy Director in the Directorate of Higher Education, delved into various government schemes, job opportunities, and highlighted the significance of the GPSC exam and Goa Staff Selection Commission.
The event commenced with a floral tribute to Swami Vivekananda, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The college Principal, Prof (Dr) Rajay Pawar, delivered the opening speech, introducing the resource persons, and students extended a floral welcome. Miss Antara Bhide, Assistant Professor in Dramatic Literature, skillfully anchored the event.
Throughout the three sessions, participants were treated to an excellent, informative, and engaging experience. As part of the National Youth Week activities, an Online Awareness Quiz on Swami Vivekananda was conducted, and the highest-scoring participants were honored with participatory certificates handed over by the resource persons.
The program concluded with a token of gratitude presented to the resource persons by the Principal. Mr. Swapnil Bhaip, College Director of Physical Education and Sports, and Antara Bhide, Assistant Professor in Dramatic Literature, efficiently coordinated the event. Miss Manjula Karyappanavar, Student Council representative, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude for the enriching insights shared during the sessions.
In a harmonious blend of celebration and education, the National Youth Week event at Kala Academy Goa’s College of Theatre Arts proved to be a platform for valuable guidance and information, aligning with the principles and vision of Swami Vivekananda.
