VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK FROM OCT 30

The observance of Vigilance Awareness Week every year remains pivotal and crucial, in promoting integrity by raising awareness regarding importance of reiterating society’s commitment against corruption.

The Government of Goa is of the firm belief that the fight against corruption requires the active involvement of all Stakeholders, including its own Departments/Organizations. One of the means towards achieving this is through outreach measures that encourage the participation of all the Citizens of the State and the employees of the Government Departments/ Organizations.

This year’s Vigilance Awareness Week would be observed in the week starting from October 30, 2023 to November 5, 2023 being the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on 31 st October. The National Theme for this year’s Vigilance Awareness Week is “Say no to Corruption; commit to the Nation”.

As a part of the activity for this week, Department/ Organization can has been entrusted to undertake and conduct during the Awareness Week or for the period of the months of October to November, 2023, that includes Publication, distribution and administering the Integrity Pledge amongst all the employees, their families, vendors/ suppliers/ contractors, all the stakeholders, students etc. The Integrity Pledge for Citizens and Organizations/ Departments as adapted from Central Vigilance Commission. Head of the Department/Organization are hereby advised to administer the pledge for Citizens and to discuss the Integrity Pledge for Organization/ Department amongst the Senior Officers of the Organization/ Department to administer the pledge amongst themselves and ensure implementation of the objectives mentioned therein, Organize “Grievance Redressal” session at Department level to ensure qui ck disposal of pending complaints/grievances for various stake holders, Organize meetings/ discussion/ workshops etc. within the Department/Organization for dissemination of information regarding menace of corruption and the different measures that public, departmental client and employees of the Organization can undertake to reduce them, Encourage Employees to take e-pledge by visiting Online integrity Pledge, available at CVC’s website (www.cvc.gov.in), Conduct workshops/Sensitization programs for employees and other stakeholders on policies/procedures of the Organization and on Preventive Vigilance measures, Conduct various competitions such as debates, quiz etc. for the employees and their families on issues relating to anti corruption and Undertake activities such as walkathons, marathons, street play etc. which have visibility and mass appeal across all strata of society.
