DHS ADVISES PUBLIC TO FOLLOW UP COVID APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOUR

The Directorate of Health Services, Panaji has informed that, there has been a rise in cases of COVID-19 in the State of Goa and is also seen in many other states in India. Active cases are 103 as on March 19, 2023. Two H3N2 cases have been detected in the state of Goa and are doing well and being followed up.

Surveillance is ongoing in the state of Goa for covid-19 and Influenza as per Ministry Guidelines.

DHS has advised to general public is to follow up COVID appropriate behaviour as follows: Observe good personal hygiene; Practice frequent hand washing with soap; Follow respiratory etiquettes – cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing as far as possible try to cough in elbow; Avoid close contact with people who are unwell or showing symptoms of illness, such as cough, runny nose etc.; Wear a mask if you have respiratory symptoms such as cough or runny nose; Wear mask in crowded places; School going children to be at home when unwell and to consult doctor; People with Co morbidity and elderly to contact nearest Health Centre on having any flu like symptoms.

DHS have also advised not to spit in public and do not take medicine without consulting your doctor as informed by the Department of Information and Publicity.
