MOPA AIRPORT PROJECT EMPLOYED GOANS

The Directorate of Civil Aviation, Goa has informed that the total number of Goans employed at the Mopa airport project site is 489, out of which 333 persons are from Pernem taluka and 157 persons are from the rest of Goa. The companies in which these persons are employed are GGIAL (64 persons from Pernem, 45 from rest of Goa), RAXA Security Services (116 from Pernem, 16 from rest of Goa), Sodexo India (17 from Pernem and 5 from rest of Goa) and MCDMCC and its contractors (136 from Pernem and 91 from rest of Goa).

The number of Goan candidates selected as Cargo Screeners (28 from Pernem, 12 from rest of Goa), Cargo Security Assistants (24 from Pernem and 4 from rest of Goa) and Fire Fighters (17 from Pernem and 10 from rest of Goa) is 95, out of which 69 are from Pernem taluka and 26 from rest of Goa. Their appointment letters will be issued shortly.

The total number of Goan candidates applied at the Aviation Skill Development Centre for various courses as on date is 182, of which 143 are from Pernem and 39 from rest of Goa. For the course Retail Sales Associates, 51 are from Pernem and 9 from the rest of Goa. For F & B Stewards Courses, 15 are from Pernem and 3 from the rest of Goa. For housekeeping attendants’ course, 5 are from Pernem and 3 from the rest of Goa. For the HVAC Technicians course, 38 are from Pernem taluka and 11 from rest of Goa. For the Assistant Electricians course, 22 are from Pernem and 6 are from the rest of Goa. For drivers, 22 are from Pernem and 6 from the rest of Goa.
