CM LAUNCHES IEC ACTIVIITES UNDER JAL JEEVAN MISSION

Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant in presence of PWD Minister Shri Deepak Prabhu Pauskar launched Information, Education and Communication and Capacity Building Programme organized under Jal Jeevan Mission, today at Ravindra Bhavan Sankhali.

Addressing the public Dr. Sawant stressing on reduce, re-use and recycle urged to stop wasting quality water by knowing the importance of water in each one life. He appealed to inculcate the habits of re using the water and follow recycling process.

Chief Minister informing that Goa is the first State to implement “Har ghar nal se jal” scheme, appreciated the work of PWD officials for achieving the same.

Participation of the public in any Government Mission is very much important he said and added that mission like Swayampurna Goa, cannot be accomplished without the participations of Sarpanch, Panch and various other organizations etc.

Chief Minister said, the local panchayats in association with local groups should shoulder the responsibility in making Swayampuna Goa Mission a success.

PWD Minister, Shri Deepak Pauskar highlighting on the Jal Jeevan Mission said Goa is far ahead in implementing this project, in the State. It is the Central Government initiative to provide clean water to every household in rural areas, he added.

Government is presently providing clean drinking water to all panchayats in all 12 talukas, Shri Pauskar informed and appealed to the public to take benefits of ongoing OTS system implemented by the PWD.

Shri Uttam Parsekar, Principal Chief Engineer, Shri, Santosh Mhapne, Chief Engineer – I,  Shri Gopal Surlakar, Shri, Mahesh Sawant, Shri, Pradeep Revodkar all Zilla Panchayat Members, Shri Srikant Pednekar, Block Development Officer, Bicholim were among the prominent persons present on the occasion.

Earlier, Shri Uttam Parsekar welcomed the guests and briefed about the Jal Jeevan Mission concept.

  Shri Raj Vaidya, President of Voluntarily Association of Goa also spoke on the occasion.

Shri Arjun Gaonkar, Sarpanch Adavalpal Panchayat, Smt Saliya Gawas, Amona Grampanchayat, Shri Mahendra Ekavade, Sarpanch Kudne, Smt. Sanjana Naik, Sarpanch, Latamparcem, Sarpanch, Menkure Dhumase, Shri Tulshidas Chodankar, Sarpanch, Mayem, Vaiginim Panchayat, Smt. Shital Sawant, Sarpanch, Van Maulinge, Shri Nilesh Jalmi, Pilgao, Shri Guruprasad Naik, Harvalem Panchayat and Smt. Namrata Gawas, Navelim were provided with special kits to test the water in their areas.
