Road Accident Statistics For January 2021

The Directorate of Transport has compiled monthly report of number of accidents that occurred and number of Challans issued for the month of January 2021.

As per the report there were 300 road accidents of which 23 were Fatal Accidents (North Goa – 08 and South Goa – 15), 18 Grievous Accidents (North Goa – 7 and South Goa – 11), 48 Minor Accidents (North Goa – 12 and South Goa – 36) and 211 Non – Injury Accidents (North Goa – 125 and South Goa –86).

The total number of persons who lost their lives in road accidents were 24 (North Goa – 08 and South Goa – 16), 14 Riders, 2 P/Riders, 3 Drivers, 2 Pedestrian, 2 Passenger and 1 Cyclist lost their lives in these accidents.

23 people were Grievously Injured (North – 07 and South – 16) while 78 persons suffered Minor Injuries (North – 20, South – 58).

A total 1588 Challans were issued by Transport authorities in the month of January 2021, as informed by Department of Information and Publicity.
