Commercial Tax Dept Conducts Search Operations On GST Defaulters

The team of Commercial Tax Department has been actively behind the GST and Vat defaulters to ensure compliance and filing of return by visiting dealers premises and issuing notice to non filers.

The Department also conducted simultaneous search and seizure operations on various dealers situated in Vasco city from morning 10 am to 5.30 pm. The operations were conducted by the department upon scrutinizing the data available and specific tip offs where it was found that various dealers are selling goods without proper invoices, such invoices were often issued without tax details, complete description of goods, quantities sold etc.

It is informed that various discrepancies were noticed during such visits which were documented and books of accounts including sales register, purchase register, kaccha bills and other books were seized.

The operations were conducted by commercial tax officers and monitored by Deputy Commissioner State Tax(Vasco) under the overall supervision of Additional Commissioner Of State Tax(South).
