GAUDE DISTRIBUTES PRIZES OF DRAMA COMPETITIONS

Staging of dramas substantially helps to portray or depict the transformations and happenings that are taking place in the world in right perspective, Art must survive, and artists must strive for it stated Art and Culture Minister Shri Govind Gaude today at Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir, Ponda.
Shri Gaude was speaking at a function organised to distribute prizes to the winners of State Art Exhibition, Konkani Drama Competition, Marathi Drama ‘A’ &’B’ Group Competition and Tiyatra Competition organized by Kala Academy during the year 2021-22 which was held at Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir, Ponda today.
Noted theatre personality Shri Vijay Kenkre, Shri Vinesh Arlekar, Member Secretary, Kala Academy, Smt. Swati Dalvi, Member Secretary, Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir, Shri Pradip Gaonkar, Program Officer, Kala Academy were also present on the occasion.
Speaking further Shri Gaude underlined the importance of Drama or theatre in day today life of common man and congratulated the winners and lauded the efforts of the awardees for their hard work in showcasing their talent and making the competition a big success. Criticism play a very important role in an individual’s life and one has to accept it as a challenge to achieve the goal he added.
Shri Gaude said that, the artists have played important role not only in preserving art but also helped to take up art to different parts of the country bringing name and fame to state.
Shri Gaude, said when drama can make a difference in the life of a person, then drama should not be limited to drama only, it should be used to convey message to the people through its performance in the fabric of society. He said the contributions made by the Goan drama writers and theatrical artists, Konkani and Marathi language has gone overseas.
Speaking on the occasion noted theatre personality Shri Vijay Kenkre said, Drama is an effective means of communication. The theater is purely experimental and it also has a lot to offer. Shri Kenkre said that the playwrights from Goa wrote many drama/plays and acknowledge contribution made by the playwrights in the field of drama.
Shri Kenkre lamented that at the national level, drama plays of Goa are performed in Hindi languages. He said that at the national level also instead of Hindi , drama plays from Goa should be in Konkani and Marathi language.
The prize distribution function was followed by staging of first place winner drama in the Kala Academy, Goa and Maharashtra State level Drama Competition “Palshetichi Vihir” by Hauns Sangeet Natya Mandal, Ponda.
