WEEKLY REVIEW OF WHOLESALE PRICE OF ESSENTIAL COMMODITIES

            The weekly review of wholesale prices of essential commodities for the week ending December 21, 2018 at Panaji, Margao and Mapusa are as follows :- The arrival and prices of rice wee steady in all the market during the week, except that of paraboiled rice local in all the markets and raw rice common at Margao, the arrival of which was not noticed during the week.

            The arrival of pulses were steady in all the markets during the week under review. Prices of masoordal and moong remained steady in all the markets during the week under review. Prices of Turdal Barshi, gramdal, peasdry and gram Kabuli big at Margao decreased by Rs.100 to Rs.300/-, Rs.200/-, Rs.100/- and Rs.400/- to Rs.500/- per quintal respectively, but were steady in other markets. Prices of Moongdal at Panaji increased by Rs. 200/- to Rs.300/- per quintal, but was steady in other markets. Prices of Uraddal at Panaji decreased by Rs.1000/- to Rs.1800/- per quintal, but was steady in other markets.

The arrival of edible oil, gur fine and sugar S-30 remained steady in all the markets during the week, except that of coconut oil at Panaji and Mapusa market, the arrival of which was not noticed during the week under review.

Prices of gur fine remained steady in all the markets during the week. Prices of Sunflower oil at Mapusa decreased by Rs.50/- per tin of 15 liters, but was steady in other markets. Prices of sugar S-30 at Margao decreased by Rs.20/- to Rs.50/- per quintal, but was steady in other markets.

The arrival of vegetables remained steady in all the markets during the week under review.

The prices of beans, cabbage and chillies green remained steady in all the markets during the week. Prices of potatoes at Panaji and Margao increased by Rs.200/- to Rs.600/- and RS.500/- toRs.600/- per quintal respectively, but was steady at Mapusa market. Prices of onions at Panaji increased by Rs.200/- per quintal, but was steady in other markets. Prices of tomatoes at Panaji increased by Rs.50/- per 10kgs, but was steady in other markets.

The arrival and prices of coconuts were steady in all the markets during the week, except that of coconuts of 120 bharti at Mapusa market, the arrival of which was not noticed during the week under review.

The arrival of betelnuts at Ponda, Sanquelim and Curchorem market sub-yards remained steady during the week.    

In the above market sub-yards, the prices of safed khoka old, decresed by Rs.50/- per 10 kgs, but the betelnut old, betelnuts new and safed Khoka new remained steady during the week. Betelnuts old, betelnuts new, safed khoka old and safed khoka new were traded at Rs.2450/-,Rs.1900/-, Rs.2200/- and Rs.1700/- per 10 kgs respectively in the respective market sub-yards.
