EXCISE DEPARTMENT ISSUES ORDER ON LIQUOR SALE   Panaji, December 24, 2018   Pausa 3, 1940 The Excise Department has informed all event organizers organizing events in which entry of general public is restricted by means of sale of ticket or registration, would require obtaining a separate license from the local taluka excise station. Excise Department’s regular teams and Special Flying squads will check all types of violations of Goa Excise Duty Act 1964 and Rules and book cases against the violators. In the last 3 weeks, 18 cases of illegal sale of liquor have been booked. Hence, cases of different violations have been registered resulting in seizure of 25,000 ltr of liquor and imposing heavy fines on the violators. Therefore, restaurant, hotel owners and event organizers are warned not to start sale of liquor without obtaining appropriate license from the department and all license holders are also directed to strictly follow the rules, terms and conditions of the license issued to them.
