DEMONSTRATION ON EMERGENCY METHODS AT NCC CAMP November 15, 2018              Home Guard and Civil Defence Organization organized a lecture cum demonstration on Emergency methods of evacuating casualties for NCC cadets attending the Annual training camp of 1 Goa Naval Unit NCC at the Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Valpoi, today.     Company Commander of Home Guards, Shri John Aguiar spoke to the cadets on the Collapsed Structure, search and location with the help of PPT and the Basic Rescue and Emergency Methods of rescue. "Every citizen has to be trained to save lives," he said.             Shri Aguiar said that members of society trained in rescue operations can assist the first responders when an emergency arises. He emphasized on the importance of identifying the correct techniques of rescue to be applied when a person is wounded in an emergency and spoke of how to bring relief to the injured so that the injury is minimized.             While rescuing others in an emergency, Shri Aguiar said that it is important that rescuers take safety precautions to ensure that they themselves do not get injured.     Senior Platoon Commander Shri Suresh Patekar gave a demonstration of these methods on stage and the NCC cadets joined in.             Assistant Section Leader Shri Narayan Pagi, Home Guards Shri Laximan T. Gaonkar, Sanju S. Gaonkar, Shri Surendranath C. Shetye  and Civil Defence Volunteers Shri Pralhad  Mayekar, Shri. Uday Kuri and Shri. Rupesh Parvatkar demonstrated methods like the “Human Crutch”, “Pick-a –back”, “Pick a Back (Reverse)”, cradle method, etc.             Commanding Officer of 1 Goa Naval Unit, Lt. Cdr.
