‘GANDHI KATHA’ PROGRAM ON DECEMBER 2

The Directorate of Art & Culture in association with Raj Bhavan, Goa is organising ‘Gandhi Katha’ programme to commemorate 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on December 2, 2019 at Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto, from 5.00 p.m. onwards. 

 

Governor Shri. Satya Pal Malik, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, Secretary, Art and  Culture Shri. Chokha Ram Garg, IAS, and Vice Chancellor, Goa University Prof. Varun Sahni, will grace this  programme as Special Guests. 

 

Gandhi Katha is well received by people everywhere and it narrates the ethical,  moral life, thought and actions of Mahatma Gandhi. The Katha format is ingrained in the Indian culture. It conveys a message by the way of storytelling with music and  narration effectively. Gandhi Katha has many unpublished and unknown incidents of the life of Mahatma Gandhi and helps people in getting inspired for nation building.

 

Dr. Shobhana Radhakrishna and Dr. Ravi Chopra will share Mahatma Gandhi’s role as a social activist, political organiser, transformational leader, freedom  fighter, religious thinker, educationist, economist, visionary through Gandhi Katha. 

 

The Department of Art and Culture has requested the people of Goa, Gandhi  Lovers and Katha Lovers to attend this function in large numbers. The program is free of cost and open for all.
