CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATED AT ST.XAVIER’S ACADEMY,
OLD GOA

The Goa State Commission for Protection of Child Rights organized the Children's Day. Chairperson of Goa State Commission for Protection of Child Rights Commission members, Adv. Sushma Mandrekar e Chodankar, Fr. Maverick Fernandes, Ms. Ketaki Gadekar, Shri Shashikant Punaji and Adv. Viren Bhende, Administrative Officer of Goa State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Probation Officer of Apna
Ghar, Ms. Sumedha Belokar along with Child Welfare Committee Members, North Goa, Ms. Audrey Pinto and Ms. Shabnam Khan were
present. The children of National Association for the Blind, Santa Cruz and St. Xavier's Academy, Old Goa were the participants.
The inauguration function was held by watering a plant. A welcome song was performed by the children of National Association for the Blind following by a dance from the children of St. Xavier's Academy. This was followed by games for the children. During the intermission snacks and soft drinks were distributed to the children.
A solo song was performed by Master Pavan Naik from St Xavier's Academy followed by a skit named 'Help the Blind, Serve the Blind’ regarding their Rights. A sensitization was conducted by the National Association for the Blind for the members of the Commission.
The children from National Association for the Blind displayed their talent at the program. A solo song was performed by Resha Vernekar from National Association for the Blind.
Several spot prizes were given to the children for a quiz. Shri Siddharth R. Naik compered the function.
