SHRI GAUDE ASKS OFFICIALS TO BE PROACTIVE WITH REGARDS CONSUMER PROTECTION

The Minister for Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Shri Govind Gaude chaired the Goa State Consumer Protection Council Meeting at the Secretariat, today. Present on the occasion were Secretary for Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Ms. Isha Khosla, IAS,  Director of Department Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs of Shri. Sagun Velip, Assistant Director, Ms Veera Nayak, and representatives of various Government Departments among others.

Shri Gaude while addressing the representatives said that consumer protection and safety had to be the priority behind initiatives implemented by the Government Departments. He further stressed on the role of awareness to be created on a regular basis with regards to various schemes and initiatives of the Government. The Minister said that Government officials should try and play a proactive role in serving consumers.

Consumer Activist, Shri Roland Martins and Member of the Consumer Conciliation Committee, Ms Amita Salatry spoke on several issues pertaining to consumer rights and welfare.

 

BSNL phone services, Power outages, Transportation, Traffic, Education  among other issues were discussed at the meeting.
