          The Goans in large numbers visited Sankhali to witness the State Level Tripurari Poornima festival held at Vithalapur, Sankhali yesterday.

        The highlights of the annual celebrations were Eco – Friendly Boat Festival. The boats are miniature replicas of actual ships while others are traditional crafts mostly made of eco friendly materials.  All together 27 boats participated in the state level competition which was held in Valvanti River.

        Tripurari Poornima is organized by Department of Art and Culture, in association with Department of Information and Publicity, Goa Tourism Development Corporation, Department of Tourism and in association with local Deepavali Utsav Committee and Shree Dev Vithal Panchayatan Devasthan, Vithalapur, Sankhali.

       Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, Minister for Art and Culture Shri Govind Gaude, Smt. Ankita Navelkar, Chairman, North Goa Zilla Panchayat, Smt, Sushma Sawant, Sarpanch, V. P. Karapur Sarvan along with other senior Government Officers graced the occasion.

Shri Shyam Gaonkar and Smt. Siddhi Prabhu compered the function.

          Apart from this programme “Bhav Bhakti Natya Dhara”, cultural programme was organized at the venue.
