COMMITTED TO CONTRIBUTING TO ACCOUNTING PROFESSION AT NATIONAL AND GLOBAL LEVEL: CM

The Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant said that India is committed to contributing to the accounting profession at Indian and International level. Dr Sawant was speaking as the Chief Guest at the inauguration of 11th Annual Asian-Oceanian Standard-Setters Group (AAOSSG), which was held at Dona Paula, today.

Lauding the ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India) for organizing Meeting in the State, Dr Sawant said that these kinds of events help strengthen the financial reporting system of the country.

Speaking further, Dr Sawant expressed confidence that the Meeting would be useful in resolving the emerging accounting and reporting issues. Dr Sawant said that it is a moment of pride to be with the members of AOSSG, a group where national Accounting Standards Setters from around the Asian-Oceanian region discuss issues and share experiences on the adoption and convergence of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and contribute to the development of a high-quality set of global accounting standards by International Accounting Standards Board of IFRS Foundation.

Earlier, the new Chair of the AAOSSG, CA. (Dr.) S.B.
