CHIEF MINISTER ATTENDS MEETING OF SAMAGRA SHIKSHA ABIYAN

                            Date: October 23, 2019.

          Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant chaired the meeting of skill training under National Skill Qualifying Forum (NSQF) organized by Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan  at Ministerial Block, Secretariat, Porvorim, today.

          The Skill training is being imparted for the students from 9th  to 12th standard in the field of Healthcare, Agriculture, Hospitality etc. under the Ministry of Human Resource Development.

          Chief Minister said that, more efforts are to be put in by Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan so that after passing  12th  standard,  students could gain required expertise in respective subjects and achieve excellence in that particular field.  Chief Minister also suggested to amend Recruitment Rules of all the posts related to skill development to recruit specialized persons in the field.

          State Coordinator Shri John Silveira who made Power Point presentation about Vocationalisation of General Education informed that the programme is being implemented in Government high schools as well as in the Government aided schools.  Assistant Director of Education, Smt. Sylvia Fernandes also made power point presentation about the skill training.

          The meeting was also attended by the Secretary of Education Smt. Neela Mohnan, IAS, State Project Director Smt. Neetal Amonkar, Dr. Ghadi,, State Coordinator Shri Kore,  Shri Bharat Naik and Shri Suhas Thakur Desai.
