CM DEMANDS GOA AS SEPARATE  CIRCLE FOR POSTAL DEPARTMENT

Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant expressed that, State of Goa should be treated as  a separate circle in order to facilitate the Goan youth to avail job opportunities created by the Post Department. He was speaking at a function organised by Post Department on the occasion of World Post Day held at Maquinaz Palace, Panaji today.  

    Speaking further Chief Minister Dr. Sawant  mentioned that Goa circle of Post Department comprises of few other districts of Maharashtra that deprives Goan candidates from availing job as larger chunk of candidates from Maharashtra get selected for the jobs. If Goa  gets separate Circle recognition employment opportunities for Goans will increase, he added.

On the occasion,   Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant appealed to the Post Department to release Postal Stamp on Former Defence Minister and Chief Minister Late  Manohar Parrikar to acknowledge his commendable contribution towards the State and national development in varied capacities of Chief Minister and Defence Minister.   

Chief Minister commended the initiatives and various activities executed by the Post Department for reaching out to people at grass roots level. He lauded the Post Department for embracing modern technology to serve the people.

Union Minister of State for AYUSH and Defence Shri. Shripad Naik appreciated efforts of Post Department. The Department plays vital role in connecting people. Goa region of Post Department is being very much innovative in propagating various schemes of Central Government, Shri. Naik said.

Earlier, Chief Minister Dr. Sawant released picture post cards on Orchids of Goa. The photos of Orchids have been contributed by staff of Post Shri. Prasanna Parab. Post Department also felicitated best employees of Goa region.

Post Master General of Goa Region Dr. N. Vinod  Kumar spoke on the occasion. Sr. Superintendent of Post Offices, Goa (SSPO)Shri. Koregappa made welcome remarks.

          Smt.Rupali Mhambre compered the programme. SSPO, Kolhapur Shri. I.D.Patil proposed vote of thanks.
