CM URGES FARMERS TO AVAIL MAXIMUM BENEFIT OF AGRICULTURE SCHEMES

Development of any constituency depends upon its infrastructure and human development said Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant while speaking at a function organized by Nuvem MLA  Shri. Wilfred Dsa at Verna yesterday.

MLA Shri. Wilfred Dsa along with Additional collector I, South Goa Shri Prasanna Acharaya, Director for Agriculture  Shri  Madhav Kerkar and all Sarpanchas and panch  members of six village panchayats from Nuvem constituency were present on the occasion.

Earlier Chief Minister visited church area in Nuvem constituency where MLA , along with Reverend father and local people briefed about development requirement which includes renovation of cemetery , school , widening of road etc and later memorandum containing  list of developmental works submitted to the Chief Minister . 

Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister stressed on better and skilled based education to children for better job prospects and to incline him/her for self employment. We need to create more self employment by taking advantage of Verna IDC where numbers of opportunities are available in different companies. Proper communication with company representatives will divulge the material requirement of any company and scope for side/full time business it might be supplying of bags, apron, cap etc in pharmaceutical company or elsewhere he added.

Speaking further Chief Minister urged every farmer to take maximum benefit of Agricultural schemes and new IT policy for their up-liftment. He also stressed on the horticulture schemes which provide advance upto Rs.1 lacs from Government for the cultivation of vegetable having plot area 10000 sq.mt with assured purchase price of vegetable.

 Replying to the demand of farmers, Chief Minister assured to provide one full time veterinary doctor at Majorda Veterinary dispensary. He also urged to take initiative for putting new plant of rice mill under the Food Processing schemes of Government which gives upto 70 % subsidy so that organic rice can be sold at higher price with brand “Nuvem Rice”. All required support including training and marketing will be provided he concluded. 

Cheques were also disbursed to flood affected people  from Nuvem constituency on the occasion.
