FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT CENTER INAUGURATED AT MAINA – CURTORIM

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shri Manohar Ajgaonkar inaugurated Maina Sports Club Football Development Centre at the St. Rita Church Ground, Maina Curtorim yesterday.

Dy. Chief Minister was speaking as a chief guest. The function was organized by the Goa Football Development Council (GFDC) in association with Maina Sports Club. The function was presided over by Curtorim M.L.A Shri Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco.

Member Secretary of GFDC Shri Aleixo Da Costa, Zilla Panchayat Member Shri Moreno C. Rebelo, Sarpanch of VP Curtorim Shri Rui K. Menezez and Parish Priest Rev. Fr.Anthony Vaz including all panch member and sports enthusiasts were also present on the occasion

Speaking further Dy. CM said that Goa Football Development Council (GFDC) which was started by late Shri Manohar Parrikar with a dream that maximum football players from Goa should play at National Level and International Level. We are all working towards following his dream he added. He therefore urged every parent to support their children to make carrier in education as well as in sports.

          Dy. CM further said that GDFC has total 35 centers and around 4000 students are getting trained. The motive of GFDC is to take every Goan quite ahead in football games.

          Dy. CM also referred the policy introduced by him when he was sports minister earlier for granting of sports marks to the student who have participated in taluka, State, National and International level sports competition provided by School education and Sports Department of the State, which he said is a supportive measure taken for welfare of student and their bright future . The sports marks now increased upto to 40 he added. 

         

          Dy. CM also mentioned the National Games which will be held in Goa and are schedule from October 15, 2020 to November 4, 2020 at different venues across the State and expenditure on same for different activities for National Games is required around 700 to 800 crores. He further expresses his happiness for the Goan students who will participate in National Games.
