YOUTH SHOULD VENTURE IN AGRICULTURE –DAYANAND SOPTE

Agriculture is backbone of State economy hence youth of  Pernem taluka need to focus more on agricultural activities attributing towards development of  the Pernem and the State stated Chairman, Goa Tourism Development Corporation  and MLA, Mandrem Shri. Dayanand Sopte.  He was speaking at a function held to celebrate 44th Anniversary of  Pernem Taluka Shetkari Seva Sahkari Society Maryadit at Pernem today.

Shri. Dayanand  Sopte  speaking further lauded the various efforts made by  Pernem Taluka Shetkari Seva Sahkari Society Maryadit to uplift the farmers community in the Pernem at larger scale. The Society played instrumental role in economical development of the Taluka, he added.

Shri. Sopte urged farmers to venture into dairy farming in larger scale thereby increasing the milk production in the State.

On the occasion Pernem Taluka Shetkari Seva Sahkari Society Maryadit felicitated Students from Pernem Taluka who have excelled in Std X, XII and Graduation Courses.  Farmers from Pernem Taluka were felicitated for their contribution towards up gradation of local economy.  The Society also felicitated its retired employees for their tireless service for the institution.

Director of Agriculture Department Shri. Madhav Kelkar appreciated the Society for its various initiatives executed for upbringing life of farmers in village areas and boosting the morale of farmers and students communities by acknowledging their contribution.

Chairman of Pernem Municipal Council Smt. Sweta Kambli also spoke on the occasion. Chairman of  Pernem Taluka Shetkari Seva Sahkari Society Maryadit Shri. Milind Kerkar  in his welcome remarks shared various initiatives and achievements of the Society.

Chairman of Goa Rajya Sahkari Sangh Shri. Uday Prabhu , members of  board of Directors of Society and others were present on the occasion.

Shri. Vithoba Bagali compered the programme . Shri. Santosh Malik proposed vote of thanks.
