HEALTH SERVICES ADOPT PREVENTIVE MEASURES TO RESTRICT DENGUE

          Directorate of Health Services under National Vector Borne Diseases Control Programme has adopted preventive measures to restrict dengue virus transmission in the state.

          All the Primary, Community and Urban Health Centers are closely monitoring the vector breeding sites and taking immediate measures for their abetment. Anti larval measures like sprays and anti adult measures like fogging is being regularly carried out in the areas of suspected dengue cases. School complexes in various parts of Goa are being regularly fumigated.

          Local bodies, Panchayats and Municipalities are timely informed about the potential breeding sites and are requested by the Directorate of Health Services to initiate early interventions whenever necessary.

          Dengue is a notifiable disease, the nearest health facilities need to informed about any suspected dengue case so that early control and preventive measures are initiated.

          In case of any febrileilness, the Directorate had suggested to follow medical advice and prevent any self-medication.

          Goa has reported 141 confirmed case of Dengue and 3 suspected Dengue deaths under investigation till 2019.
