Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant expressed that, projects and activities initiated by Atal Gram Development Agency (AGDA) need to be focused on tourism promotion  and value addition to resources  in the  State.  Chief Minister Dr. Sawant held meeting of Atal Gram Development Agency, Goa at Secretariat, Porvorim today.

Chief Minister appreciated efforts made by AGDA towards rural developments through its projects.  He also congratulated Chairman and members of AGDA for their achievements.

Chief Minister Dr. Sawant  further stated that, Atal Gram Development Agency should co-ordinate with Departments such as Tribal welfare, Panchayat and other agencies for the funds arrangement, so that AGDA can implement its projects without any financial constrains.

Chief Minister also stressed upon that, villages from North Goa those are largely populated by Schedule Tribes need to be incorporated by AGDA. During the discussion it was decided to adopt Surla Village alongwith Bhati village, Sanguem taluka for the projects initiated by AGDA.

Project Director, AGDA Shri. Vijay Saxena  made presentation on various activities of AGDA.

Chief Secretary Shri. Parimal Rai, IAS, Chairman of AGDA Shri. Subhash Velip, Chairman of South Goa Zilla Panchayat Shri. Navnath Naik, Director, AGDA Shri. Satish Goankar, Project Officer, AGDA Shri. Mayuresh Shetye were present for the meeting.
