The Minister for Information and Technology Shri Rohan Khaunte said that the knowledge is biggest investment. The students he said should have interest to learn and acquire knowledge of IT and strive to create their own success stories.


Shri Khaunte was speaking as chief guest at laptop distribution function organized by Directorate of Technical Education in collaboration with M/s Info-tech Corporation of Goa Ltd. at Porvorim today.    


Shri Khaunte said that IT sector has vast scope and those who aim to excel will get backup from the Government. The startup policy of the Government implemented to encourage Goan entrepreneurs.  


The Secretary for Information & Technology Shri Amey Abhankar in his address said that there is common expectation among the people to have Government jobs which he said has become a  mindset of the people which he said is not fair. He stressed on the need to find other avenues of employment. He also appealed  to youth to come out from their comfort zone and strive for job in other parts of the country.


Shri Abhyankar  further said that providing  laptop is an good  incentive from the Government and  hoped for  its proper use by the students and  emerge knowledgeable person. The Government he said aims to assist those institutions who  intends to open 3D labs.


 Overall 25 students from all five Government Polytechnics were selected for the distribution of laptops. The symbolic distribution of five laptops to five students from each Government Polytechnic was done at the hands of Minister Shri Khaunte, and rest were distributed at the hands of Secretary IT Shri Amey Abhyankar.      


Shri Vivek Kamat, Director of Technical Education welcomed the gathering. Shri Govind Bhagat compered the function. While Shri Vincent Fernandes, Asst. DTE proposed the vote of thanks
