            District Magistrate (DM), North District, in view of General election to Sanquelim Muncipal council is to be held on May 6, 2018 under Section 144 of Cr. P.C. 1973 has  prohibited  all the Arms licence holders of  Bicholim Taluka from carrying  any type of arms, firearms, ammunition lethal weapons, etc in any public place, street, road squares, through fare, by lanes, or in any open place in entire Bicholim taluka  of North Goa with immediate effect till election process gets over .

All the arm licence holders of Bicholim taluka in North Goa District are directed to deposit all their fire arms at the Police Stations of their respective Jurisdiction positively before                   April 22, 2018. All the firearms deposited will be returned to the licence holder five days  after  the completion of counting of votes.

DM also informed that any person from outside Bicholim taluka is also prohibited to carry his/her licenced weapons within the territorial jurisdiction of Bicholim taluka with immediate effect till further orders.

It is further  stated that above restrictions shall not apply to Banks/Public Servants/Defense Personnel and Security Personnel on duty/sports persons who are member of National Rifle Association of India and any other person especially exempted from the purview of this order.
