SECTION 144 IMPOSED DURING LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY

          In view the Seventh Legislative Assembly of the State of Goa convened at 11.30 a.m from January 29, 2019 to January 31, 2019,   the District Magistrate, North Goa has issued order under Section 144 (1)of the Code of Criminal Procedure, assembly or gathering of five or more persons and taking out or organizing of processions, the carrying of firearms or weapons of offence such as lathis, swords, daggers or spears, the use of loudspeakers, the shouting of slogans, burning of fire crackers near Petrol Pumps and at the venue of the meetings etc. in any public place, street, road, square, thoroughfare, bye-lane or in any open space within the radius of 500 meters around the Assembly Complex at Porvorim and the areas under the jurisdiction of Panaji Police Station.

          This restriction shall not apply to public servants on duty, bonafied marriage or funeral processions or any special occasion or occasions which in the opinion of the District Magistrate/Additional District Magistrate/ sub-Divisional Magistrate, are genuine and for which prior permission in writing has/have been obtained from the District  Magistrate / Additional District Magistrate  or the Sub- Divisional Magistrate concerned.

         The order will come in force with effect from 7.00 a.m. of January 29, 2019 and shall remain in force till Assembly Session is over.
