GOA STATE CULTURAL AWARDS & BEST CULTURAL INSTITUTION AWARD ANNOUNCED

The Directorate of Art & Culture will honour 12 eminent personalities in the Field of Art & Culture by conferring the prestigious ‘Goa State Cultural Award’ for their contribution & achievements in their respective fields like Music, Drama/Tiatr, Folk Art, Bhajan, Kirtan, Craft, Literature, Painting etc. The awards are for the year 2024-25. Also every year one Cultural Institute is being considered for Best Cultural Institute Award.

The recipients of the Goa State Cultural Awards in the field of music are Shri Damodar K. Shevde from Pernem Taluka and Shri Agostinho Francisco Xavier Joao Da Cruz from Salcete Taluka. In the field of bhajan/drama, Shri Suresh A. Bandekar, from Pernem Taluka. In the field of Kirtan, the recipient is Shri Vivek L. Joshi from Sattari Taluka.In the field of Bhajan, Shri Anand T. Amonkar Bhajan and Shri Gurudas K. Gaonkar, both from Bicholim taluka. In the field of Drama,from Dharbandora Shri Gajanan G. Naik and Shri Amrutrao R Bhosale from Tiswadi, in the field of Tiatr, Smt. Sharon Mazarello from salcete taluka, in the field of folk and Art Smt. Suhasini V. Naik from Ponda Taluka ,In the field of literature from Tiswadi taluka, Smt. Nayana Adarkar and Shri Laxman K. Pitre are the recipients of the Goa State Cultural Award.

Recipient of Best Cultural Institution Award 2024-25 is Shantadurga Cultural Association, Kumbarjua, Ponda.

The Goa State Cultural Awards comprises of a cash prize of Rs.1,00,000/- each, shrifal, shawl, certificate, and Nataraj Replica. The award for Best Cultural Institution consists of a Memento and Cash prize of Rs. 3.00 Lakhs.

The Goa State Cultural Awards for Individuals and Best Cultural Institution will he kilted to the awardees at a special function to be organized by the department.
