THREE DAYS HERITAGE FESTIVAL – 2023 BEGINS IN SALIGAO

Shri. Shripad Y. Naik Minister of State for Tourism and Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Govt. of India and Minister for Tourism, Information & Technology and Printing & Stationery Shri Rohan Khaunte inaugurated three days Heritage Festival 2023 organized by Department of Tourism at Saligao Ground, Saligao today.

Others present were Shri. Nilkanth Halarnkar, Minister for Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Factories and Boilers, Shri Kedar Naik, Smt. Delilah Lobo, Adv Carlos Ferreira, MLAs, Sandip Bandodkar, ZP Member, Sarpanch and Panch graced the occasion.

Addressing the gathering Shri Sripad Naik, Minister of State for Tourism said, to boost tourism, State Government is doing good job and congratulated Tourism Minister for the same.

Shripad Naik said Goa has good turnover in Tourism Sector and called upon youths to shoulder the responsibility and make their career. Simultaneously the younger generation should try to preserve our rich culture.

Shri Naik urged the youths to take advantage of various schemes of the government to build their future and appealed to preserve our traditions and culture.

Addressing the public Minister for Tourism, Shri Rohan Khaunte said, different programs have been arranged to showcase our cultural heritage. Citing the different festivals that are organized in State of Goa, he said these festivals provides a platforms to local talents.

Minister highlighted various initiatives taken up by the State Government with the help of Union Government informed that Rs. 40 crores will be spent to boost old Goa heritage sites before next exposition. He appealed to work together to keep Goa as the most prefered destination.

To boost local eco system in the State, Minister further said, Government is contemplating to celebrate all small festivals in a bigger way in the near future.

Speaking on the occasion Minister, Shri Nilkanth Halarnkar congratulating the efforts of Tourism Department said we all should work together to maintain our rich cultural heritage and tradition.

Earlier, Shri Sanjiv Ahuja, IAS, Secretary, Tourism welcomed the guests.

Shri. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS Director Tourism was also present on the occasionsion.

Local artists were felicitated on the occasion.
