IMMENSE SCOPE FOR WELLNESS TOURISM IN GOA: CHIEF MINISTER

There is a immense scope for wellness tourism in Goa .One should grab the opportunities available for them, otherwise people from outside the state and other countries will come forward stated Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant while speaking as the chief guest on the occasion of World Homeopathy Day organized by Goa Board of Homeopathy in collaboration with Directorate of Health Services Government of Goa and Ayush Cell in the city today.

Chief Minister said mere practicing Homeopathy will not help but one should try to sell it. Practitioners should start wellness tourism centre in collaboration with different sector such as hotel industry and government is ready to support it .He further said post covid pandemic people are attracted towards naturopathy, Ayurveda, homeopathy treatment .Speaking on employment opportunities he said instead of depending on Government job, the practitioner should come forward and set up recognized centre in the state which will help to boost wellness tourism in the state.

Dr Bipan Salkar, Chairman Goa Board of Homeopathy addressing the gathering said that World Homeopathy Day is observed on April 10 every year to celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homoeopathy. He said one of the main aspects of Homeopathy is that it doesn’t have side effects. Dr Bipan Salkar urged everyone to derive the benefits of Homeopathy and to propagate the integration into main stream .This will help in creating healthier and most sustainable future for ourselves and generations to come he added.

Dr Minal Joshi, Deputy Director National Ayush Mission and Dr Rupa Naik, Deputy Director Public Health Directorate of Health Service also spoke on the occasion.

Chief Minster Dr Pramod Sawant also launched website of Goa board of Homeopathy on the occasion.

This year the theme for World Homeopathy Day is One Health One family

Dr Narayan Shirodkar and Dr Malini Desai were felicitated as senior Homeopath for their enormous contribution in the field of Homeopathy. Dr Sayeesh Madkaikar and Dr Anupa Prabhu were also felicitated with upcoming Homeopat award.

Dr Shekhar Shetye, Dr Vijaylaxmi Desai, Dr Marilyn Telles, Dr Swati Desai, Dr Domnic Dsouza, Dr Pallavi Kanekar ,Dr Reena Parab, Dr Sweta Gandhi, Dr Sphandhan Faldesai, Government Homeopathy physicians were felicitated on the occasion for their contribution in creating awareness on homeopathy in the Government health centers.

Dr Rajendra Kanekar, Registrar Goa Board of Homeopathy and State Epidemiologist gave welcome address and Dr Marilyn Teles, Homeopathy physician proposed the vote of Thanks.
