World Health Day Celebrated

The Directorate of Health Services celebrated World Health Day at Menezes Branganza Hall today. The theme of this year’s World Health Day is Health For All. World health day is observed on 7th April every year.

The chief guest at the function, Health Secretary Shri. Arun Kumar Mishra, IAS, congratulated the Directorate of Health Services for such vibrant functions. “Doctors are responsible for deep analysis and dialysis of every patient. Goa has one of the best medical systems and it is due to collective efforts of all the team. All the health facilities have to be improved to be the best” he added.

While speaking at the occasion Dr. Geeta Kakodkar Director DHS said that today our health services are forever striving to improve quality services to every resident in Goa with the support of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and health Minister Shri. Vishwajit Rane.

Many PHC’s, CHC’s who received certificate under NQAS were felicitated on this occasion. PHC Dharbandora received the highest score of 95.72% were among the others to be felicitated. Under the Paddle for work activity cycles was distributed to Sister Nirmala Tople, PHC Dharbandora.She covered more than 5000km in her cycle. As token of appreciation other employees were felicitated with smart watch who are at the forefront at health services. Many others were felicitated under various criteria.

WHO (World Health Organization) will observe its 75 year anniversary on 7th April. The WHO looks back at public health successes that have improved quality of life during the last seven decades.

The other dignitaries present at the occasion were Dr. Suriya Fadnis Asst. professor Goa institute Management, Smt. Jyoti Saldessai Director FDA, Dr. Rupa Naik Deputy Director Public health, Dr. Vandhana Dhume Medical Superintendent North Goa district Hospital.
