ENFORCEMENT SQUAD UNDER COTPA RE-CONSTITUTED

The North Goa District Magistrate has re-constituted Enforcement Squad of North Goa District for effective implementation of illicit drug/Cigarettes and other Tobacco. Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of trade Commerce Production, Supply and Distribution) Act, 2003 in North Goa District.

The District Magistrate has ordered all the enforcement squads of North Goa District headed by the Mamlatdars and joint Mamlatdars to submit an action taken report after every visit which should have signatures of the entire team covering parameters that have been checked.

The Enforcement Squad of all the Talukas are hereby directed to take action on illicit tobacco products which are in circulation without paying taxes including other sections under COTPA Act, 2003 and also to prohibit the use and spitting of chewing smokeless tobacco products in public places.

The monthly schedules are as follows: Tiswadi taluka every Monday, Bardez taluka every Tuesday, Bicholim taluka every Wednesday, Pernem taluka every Thursday and Sattari taluka every Friday.

The Enforcement Squads consist of Mamlatdar, Joint Mamlatdars, Executive Magistrates of the respective talukas, PSIs attached to concerned Police Stations, Sanitary Inspector of Health and Member of NGO GOACAN/Voluntary Health Association of Goa, .This order will remain enforce until further order.
