GOVERNOR GREET TEACHER’S ON TEACHERS DAY

September 4, 2022

Governor Shri P. S. Sreedharan Pillai has extended greetings on the occasion of the Teachers Day to the teaching fraternity.

Governor in his message said “This day is celebrated to commemorate the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who was one of the greatest teachers of our country, besides being an eminent philosopher, educationist par excellence and profound humanist. He was also a towering statesman having served as the President and Vice President of our country. In the words of A.P.J. Abdul Kalam “If a country is to be corruption free and become a nation of beautiful minds, I strongly feel there are three key societal members who can make a difference. They are the father, mother and a teacher”. These wonderful words sum up the importance of the teachers and the key role they play in shaping the mind, body, character, caliber and future of the students. From ancient times, teaching has always been held in high esteem in our country and even today this profession continues to be regarded as a noble one. It is no wonder then that in the National Education Policy, 2020 teachers have been assigned a prominent role in the achievement of New Self Reliant India”.

On this important occasion while commending the teaching fraternity for their substantive contribution to nation building, I would like to urge all the teachers to continue to serve the nation with a renewed sense of dedication, devotion and commitment, the Governor concluded.
