DHS TO CONDUCT HEALTH MELAS FROM APRIL 19 TO APRIL 22

In a bid to promote the “Health for All` movement, the State Directorate of Health Services will organize Block Health Melas under `Azadi Ka Amrit Mahostav` from April 19, 2022 to April 22, 2022 at four Block cities of the State.

Health Melas will also coincide with the 4th anniversary of Ayushman Bharat –Health & Wellness Centre. The First Block Health Mela will be held on April 19, 2022 at Dharbandora Block, Primary Health Centre Dharbandora from 9 am to 4 pm.

On April 20, 2022 second Health Mela will be held for Bicholim Block at Community Health Centre Sankhali which would commence from 9 am till 4 pm.

At Pernem Block Health Mela will be conducted on April 21, 2022 at Deendayal Hall, Tuem from 9 am to 4 pm. Similarly, on April 22, 2022 Health Mela will be organised for Canacona Block at Community Health Centre, Canacona.

It is pertinent to note that the Health Melas are being organised for creating broad awareness about different health related Schemes and programs of Government including Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri- Jan Arogya Yojana (ABPM-JAY) and Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Mission (ABDM).

The Block Health Melas are aimed to achieve various objectives of facilitating people to avail the benefits of different Health schemes and creating awareness about prevention of Non Communicable & Communicable Diseases. Providing screening for early diagnosis, basic health care services with drugs and diagnostics, teleconsultation with
relevant health specialists and referrals as needed.

Directorate of Health Services will provide various OPDs for the general public at all the venues of Health Melas such as General OPD, OBG OPD, Medicine OPD, Surgery OPD, ENT OPD, Opthalmology OPD, Orthopaedic OPD, Skin OPD, Pediatric, Dental, AYUSH/Homeopathy OPD, and Blood Donation Camps.

Wellness activities like Yoga, Meditation will also be conducted at Health Melas.Besides Directorate of Food & Drugs Administration will create awareness regarding `Eat Right Campaign`. Similarly, the Directorate of Education, Panchayati Raj, Art and Culture will be incorporated for promoting Health for All movement.
