Goan Produce to Get Marketing Support From Goa Biodiversity Board

In a big boost to local producers, the Goa State Bio- Diversity has approved “The Go Van” project, under which the government will extend marketing support to the local food produce. Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant charging the Goa Bio-Diversity Board meeting said that the Board today granted approval for the “The Go Van” project for local produce.

Sawant said that for the first time Go Van processing unit will be started and local produce like mango and jackfruit will be taken up the Government intends to start the said project in both Districts.

“We will brand and market the forest produce, for which various private agencies would be taken on board”, he said.

He said that the Food Processing and Marketing, project management unit have been approved by bio-diversity for which several companies have supported under CRS. “So whatever is locally produced in Goa will get a big market to sell” he said.

The logo for Go Van project was approved in the meeting.
