COVI-SHIELD Advocacy Workshop Held

The State Family Welfare Bureau under Directorate of Health Services organized Media Sensitization Workshop on Covid-19 Vaccination in its Conference Hall, Campal recently.

The workshop was held to sensitize the masses through the media about taking corona virus preventive Vaccine Covi-shield.

The Chief Medical Officer, SFWB, Dr. Vandana Dhume while addressing said that the vaccination drive has already been started all over the country. In Goa also the same was launched on January 16, 2021. Goa too has started vaccinating the frontline Workers in Seven Sessions and have covered 100 beneficiaries in each session. It is mandatory for all to register themselves under COWIN Portal.  The vaccination drive would be conducted in phase wised manner. The beneficiary will get two doses between the interval of 28 days.  Vaccination has been administered to Health care Workers, Frontline Workers and General public. Dr. Dhume appealed to the people to get vaccinated so as to eliminate corona virus.

Dr. Rajendra Borkar,  State Immunization Officer informed  about the facts of Covi-shield  Vaccine ,  that it well tested,  safe and effective and approved  by the apex body of the Government NEGVAC. There is no ground for hesitation, he said and urged people to take the vaccine to get rid of corona virus.

Dr.Utkarsh Betodkar, State Epidemiologist spoke about the recent status of Covid -19 situation in the State. There is no much rise in covid cases in the State. Still we have to be careful. Need to follow social distancing, wearing mask, regular sanitisation. The Vaccine will help to cure corona virus disease, he said.
