FOOD BUSINESS OPERATORS FINED FOR MANUFACTURING,                   SELLING PASTEURIZED HOMOGENIZED TONED MILK

          The District Magistrate cum Adjudicating Officer, North Goa District, Panaji imposed a penalty of Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees twenty thousand only), each, on Shri Srinivas R. Bhatt, Food Business Operator cum proprietor of the firm, M/s. Sakshi Enterprises, St. Inez, Panaji and the manufacturer, M/s Srikrishna Milk Pvt. Ltd., Yellapur, taluka U.K. District, Karnataka, under the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and the Rules/Regulations, for manufacturing and  selling ‘Pasteurized Homogenized Toned Milk(Sri Krishna),’which was declared and reported to be ‘Sub-Standard food’ as it contained ‘sucrose’ which is not permitted, under the aforesaid Act and Rules.

 

          The said sample of ‘Pasteurized Homogenized Toned Milk (Sri Krishna)’ was drawn by the Food Safety Officer, Shri Shivdas Naik of the Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration, Bambolim.

 

           The said penal order was passed on March 7, 2018 and the case on behalf of State was represented by Adv. Gaurish Agni.
