Minister for Tribal Department, Shri Govind Gaude handed over orders to new entrepreneurs from ST Community belonging to various parts of Goa under Goa tribal Employment Generation Programme Scheme, total loan amounting to Rs. 1.00 crore.

This is a new scheme sponsored by Department of Industries Trade and Commerce and promoted by Goa State Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation Ltd. The Scheme offers 40% subsidy for Micro and Small Manufacturing  Enterprises, Services and Trade Enterprises. The sole purpose of this Scheme is to provide Self Employment opportunities to the unemployed members of the Tribal Community of Goa.

Minister for Tribal Department, Shri Gaude emphasized on becoming Self reliant instead of looking for Government jobs, as Self Employment reduces the burden of unemployment on permanent basis. It also generates jobs for locals. He encouraged the ST youth to encash upon this financial opportunity and assured all required help to achieve their goals. He also informed the beneficiaries to further create awareness amongst other individuals in their community so that more and more Tribal’s become financially strong and generate additional employment opportunities.

Present on the occasion were Chairman, Shri Durgadas Gaude, Directors , Directorate of Social Welfare, Shri Peter Fernandes, Shri Ragvir Kuncolienkar, Shri Marcus Pereira, Shri Ronaldo Gonsalves, Shri Rohidas Diwadkar, Staff of ST Corporation and beneficiaries.
