The Goa Khadi and Village Industries Board in association with Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA), North Goa organized a special function for distribution of Honey Bee boxes at Ela farm complex, old Goa. The function was organized under ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Swayampurna Goa” initiative of Government of Goa.

          MLA, St Cruz, Shri Antonio Fernandes, Chairman of Khadi and Village Industries Board presided over the function, distributed around 100 bee boxes to 80 beneficiaries from North Goa. Shri Dipaji Rane Sardessai, Vice Chairman KVIB and Shri Dilip Paranjape Project Director (ATMA) and officials of the KVIB were also present during the occasion.

Goa Khadi and Village Industries board has launched a new scheme for promotion of Beekeeping Industry in Goa which provides for 90%-95% subsidy on purchase of Bee boxes.

Shri Fernandes, while speaking on the occasion appealed to the public to avail the benefits of the scheme as the beekeeping industry not only increases the honey production but also increases the agriculture production by about 30%. He also urged the people to avail the self employment schemes of KVIB as well as other Government Departments and be a part of the “Atmanirbhar Bharat Swayampurna Goa” campaign launched by the Government under the able leadership of the Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant.
