Deputy Chief Minister, Shri. Chandrakant Kavalekar expressed his enthusiasm towards making Goa as an agriculture oriented State in the country thereby fostering its economy to greater extent. 


          Shri Kavlekar was speaking after hoisting the National flag on the occasion of Republic Day at South Goa Collectorate, Margao today.


Dy. CM Shri. Kavlekar in his address lauded the progress and development made by the State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant. He appreciated efforts and decision taken by the State Government to combat COVID-19 pandemic in the State.


Shri. Kavlekar further mentioned that, Government has initiated lots of Infrastructural projects and Welfare Schemes in the State providing people the best services in the sector of Road Transport, Communication, IT apart from Social upliftment.


On the occasion Shri. Kavlekar paid tributes to the Freedom Fighters of Goa and all over the Country for their contribution towards freedom Struggle movement of the Nation. And also to those luminary who drafted the Constitution of India and given the right to people to be Citizens of free and democratic Country.


Earlier Dy. Chief Minister Shri. Kavlekar received guard of honour by troupe from Police and Fire and Emergency Services Department.


Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Shri. Vinay Tendulkar, MLA's Shri. Churchil Alemao, Shri. Aleixo Reginald Lourenco, Shri. Clafasio Dias; Zilla Panchayat, South Goa Vice Chairman Shri. Khushali Velip, Zilla Panchayat Member Shri. Ulhas Tuyekar, South Goa Collector, Shri. Ajit Roy (IAS), Superintendent of Police, Shri. Pankaj Kumar Singh and other senior officers were present on the occasion.


Students of Presentation Convent High School, Margao presented National Anthem. Shri. Anil Pai compered the function.
