The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Goa in association with the District Election Officer, North Goa will be conducting State Level function of   11th National Voters Day at 12.15 p.m. on January 25, 2021 at Menezes Braganza Hall, Panaji.


Governor, Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari will be the Chief Guest while Chief Secretary, Shri   Parimal Rai, IAS will be Guest of Honour and State Election Commissioner, Goa Shri Chokha Ram Garg, IAS will be Special Invitee for this State Level function.


On this occasion, the National Voter’s Day (NVD) pledge will be administered along with presentation of a street play by Kala Academy’s Goa College of Theatre Arts, followed by felicitation of new voters and presentation of  Awards.


Taking a step forward towards a modern electoral ecosystem, the Election Commission of India will launch Electronic Electors Photo Identity Card (e-EPIC) facility on the occasion. Initially, it will be available for new electors and from February 1, 2021 it will be made available to all voters simultaneously.



National Voters Day is celebrated every year on January 25 to encourage more young voters to take part in the political process. It was started from January 25, 2011 to mark the Election Commission of India’s foundation day. It is a moment of great privilege and pride for the democracy to celebrate the National Voter’s Day. This day has been fully dedicated to the empowerment of young voters and strengthening of India’s participatory democracy. It is also the day when the founding fathers of the Indian Constitution gifted to their people the “Election Commission of India” 70 years ago, as informed by Department of Information and Publicity.
