            On the occasion of their 37th Annual Raising Day (Family Day), the Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES), launched two mobile Simulation  Applications viz Disaster Management and General Safety Cases, a Fire Safety Mobile Simulator and revamped their website www.dfes.goa.gov.in at the hands of Speaker, Goa Legislative Assembly, Shri. Rajesh Patnekar. Director of Fire and Emergency Services Shri. Ashok Menon was also present on the occasion.

            The website www.dfes.goa.gov.in has been revamped as per latest design ‘Responsive’. Responsive means content that adjusts according to   the screen size and it is accessible on multiple types of devices. An environment-friendly Simulator is meant for training workforce with an integrated user behaviour analysis in a Multi-Sensory Virtual Scenario. To ensure interest, participation and engagement within students and the rural community, the Fire Safety VR Simulator will be deployed with the training state-of-the-art fire & safety education van, which has been operating successfully across panchayats and residential areas to educate the public on disaster preparedness and basic fire safety.

. The Mobile Simulation Apps have information on preparedness and precautions during Earthquake and flood, fire in electrical appliances, cooking, clothes catching fire etc.

          Speaking on the occasion, Shri. Patnekar congratulated the Directorate for their continuous and stupendous service. “Fire and Emergency Services is one of the important directorates of the Government which has done a commendable job in every disaster management situation. The staff in this department often put their life in danger while rendering services. I congratulate their hard work and dedication,” the Speaker said.

          Children of the staff of the Directorate were also felicitated on this occasion for their meritorious performance in academics. Earlier, Shri. Menon gave the welcome address. Shri. Ravi Naik, Station Fire Officer compered the function while Shri. Ajit Kamat proposed the vote of thanks.
