PMKVY 3.0 LAUNCHED IN THE STATE

          Secretary for  Skill Development, Shri, C.R. Garg, IAS today launched the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 3.0 in the Institute Menezes Braganza, Panaji. Collector, North and Chairperson of the District-Skill Committee, Smt. R. Menaka, IAS, State Engagement Officer at National Skill Development Corporation, Karnataka, Goa & Tripura Capt. Kaustuv Nath, Director of Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Shri. Deepak Desai, Asst. Directors Shri. Rajesh Lolayekar and Shri. V.M. Kambli were present on the occasion.  

          The PMKVY 3.0 host courses with short duration and will get over by March 2021. This edition has courses specially designed by understanding the need of the Industry such as Solar Technicians, Tourism, and Hospitality in addition to the routine courses.

          Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Shri. Garg, IAS told the students that courses under PMKVY are a golden opportunity for them to train in the skills which are in demand. He urged them to focus on being an entrepreneur than mere seeking a job in the desired sector. He also congratulated the Directorate for introducing courses according to the need of local industrial base.  

          Smt Menaka, IAS told the students to seek variety and professionaliam in the skill based course they choose. Highlighting the importance of skill in today’s era, she also urged the students to constantly update themselves for better opportunities.

          Students were presented with skill kits on the occasion. Each ITI hosting PMKVY courses as well as representatives of the Industry were given certificates of appreciation.

          Earlier, Director Shri. Desai gave the welcome address while Captain Kaustuv Nath briefed about PMKVY 3.0 edition in the State as well as in the country as a whole. Smt. Alcena Rebello compered the function while Shri. Alshay Shirvoikar proposed the vote of thanks. The event was well attended by students and teachers from ITIs across the state.
