The Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs will host weeklong programs from January 12 -17, 2021 as a part of National Youth Day, which is annually celebrated on January 12 to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.

To kick-off the weeklong celebration, the Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant will visit the Rachol Seminary and Damodar Sal in Fatorda on January 12, 2021 at 3.00 p.m. followed by an interaction with youth at Ravindra Bhavan, Fatorda in the presence of Dy. Chief Minister Shri. Manohar Azgaonkar, Director of Sports & Youth Affairs, Shri. Shashank Mani Tripathi, IAS, EDC Chairman Shri. Sadanand Tanavade, Chairperson of Ravindra Bhavan Shri. Damodar Naik, Leader of the Opposition Shri. Digambar Kamat, MLA Curtorim, Shri. Aleixo Reginald Lourenco and MLA Fatorda, Shri. Vijay Sardessai at 4.00 p.m.

Earlier at 3.00 p.m. on January 12, Shri. Sudesh Nanda Gaude will brief the youth on ‘Government Schemes’ followed by a talk on Chief Minister’s Rojgar Yojana (CMRY) by Shri. Carlos D’Sa and a talk on ‘Swayampurna Goem’ by Shri. Dattaprasad  Shetkar.


On January 13, 2021 at 11.00 a.m. a webinar on Career Guidance is organised. Shri. Amey Gajanan, resource person will talk on Career Guidance and Entrepreneurship.           A program in co-ordination with Nehru Yuva Kendra will be held on January 14, 2021 while a Taluka Cycle Rallies are planned on January 16, 2021 and Cleanliness drive at heritage sites and monuments is planned on January 17, 2021.
