The Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant chaired a meeting with the Officers of Tribal Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd at conference hall, Secretariat, Porvorim today. Minister for Tribal Welfare Shri Govind Gaude was also present for the meeting.

The Chief Minister addressing the meeting reiterated Government commitment to check and ensure that the Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojana ( PMVDY ) scheme is  implemented in the State to cater to the  interest of the Tribal people at large. Thrust will be given on proper implementation of the scheme and developing required logistics infrastructure etc, he added.

He said that the proposal for TRIFOOD is in process - three sites from Dharbandora have been identified and selection of one site and activities to be undertaken are  under process. Two locations identified for Tribes India Showroom is also underway and identification of two retail outlets one each at North & South is also under process, Dr. Sawant informed.

 Chairman of SC/ST Corporation Shri Ramesh Tawadkar; Secretary Tribal Welfare, Shri S. K. Bhandari IAS;  Director, Tribal Welfare, Smt. Sandhya Kamat; delegation of TRIFED led by Shri Anupam Trivedi ED, Shri Amit Bhatnagar, GM, Shri Abhishek Naga, Consultant, Shri Tarun Goel, Consultant, Shri Ramanathan RM ( Bangalore )  HODs and Secretaries to the Government attended the meeting.
