Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant announced his intension to commence UPSC training centres in all the colleges in the State and informed that Directorate of Higher Education is working on the modules, to ensure that it starts from the forthcoming academic year.

The Chief Minister was speaking after launching the Goan Varta live Marathi channel in the State of Goa. Present on the occasion were the Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Chandrakant Kavlekar; Dr. Dilip Pandharpatte, IAS, Secretary and Director General of DGIPR, Government of Maharashtra; Shri Ambar Timblo, Managing Director of Fomento Group; Shri Sanjay Dhavlikar, Editor of Goan Varta and Shri Kishor Naik Gaonkar, Editor of Goan Varta Live.

Speaking further the Chief Minister said the State Government will be celebrating 60th year of Goa’s Independence by organizing various programmes throughout the year in the State as well as other parts of the country. Through these initiatives the programmes will showcase the art and rich culture of the State in other parts of the country.

Complimenting the efforts of the Timblo Group, Dr. Sawant said through these informative innovations the State will go one step ahead to showcase its content about this beautiful State to the neibhouring states.

Addressing the gathering Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Chandrakant Kavlekar said through this initiatives the relation between neibhouring State Maharashtra and Goa will be more developed and remarked that such initiatives are the need of the hour for keeping oneself abreast and informed of the latest happenings.

Dr. Dilip Pandharpatte, Shri Amabar Timblo, Shri Sanjay Dhavlikar also spoke on the occasion.

Earlier, Shri Kishor Naik Gaonkar welcomed the guests.
